Reproduction of an original oil painting of the California coast, north of Big Sur, by Erin Hanson. Driving south along the 1 Highway, just after dawn, is a beautiful way to soak in the California coast. Since you are driving south, it is easy to pull out into the turnoffs and stand on the edge of a cliff in the crisp ocean air. The aqua-green of the ocean and the cobalt blue of the cliff shadows looked almost unreal in their intensity. With few brush strokes and lots of paint, the artist captures the fresh spontaneity of this oceanscape.
