Description
San Diego County : Anza Borrego Desert State Park
Another dawn hike along Hellhole Canyon Trail just west of Borrego Springs. Wind seemed to pick up with each step pushing rainclouds into a quick drifting sea of heavy textures. I set up inches away from this teddy-bear cholla cactus, waiting for its thick coat of needles to glow as sunrise light descended Indianhead Mountain.

Another glorious desert scene. The cacti are beautifully shot and seem to act as gatekeepers!

Hellhole Canyon - now that's an inviting name for a place! But your photograph shows that it's worth the visit. Fabulous shot William, you've given a great feel of the desert country. fav
William Dunigan replied:
Thanks Linda! Yes, a very inviting name for a desert trail -- given the droughts we've had over the last few years I'd say it was aptly named with all the bare and struggling plants. Luckily we got some rain this year to liven things up.
