This photograph was taken at the Crooked River in Central Oregon on a sunny December morning where the river circles the base of Smith Rock. This location can be reached by trail either by hiking Misery Ridge or following the trail along the banks of the river. The river eventually joins the Deschutes River and both flow north toward the Columbia River Gorge. The views are breathtaking, especially when the sun shines.
