San Diego County : Anza Borrego Desert State Park

An unusual December bloom along Henderson Canyon Road just north of Borrego Springs in East County San Diego. Here I found a Desert Sunflower rooted in the cracked dirt of a dry flood basin. I waited as morning light filtered through clouds to lightly brush the landscape looking west.
